Arrive by Plane to Spain

When you arrive with the airplane in one of the airports of Barcelona or Madrid you could consider:

There is great train options from Madrid or Barcelona

The ideal is: Flight to Madrid or Barcelona, whichever suits you better and from there: directly by train, from either city. There is also a domestic flight to Zaragoza but note that connections to international arrivals might make the train a better solution!

Advantages of the train in both cases (the distance between Zgz - Bcn or Zgz - Mad, is the same): you don't have to book far in advance like for a plane connection, and you arrive in 1 hour 15 minutes, but you have to move from the airport to the train station.

Barcelona:

It's easy to travel from Barcelona airport to Sants-ttrainstation. Just take the RENFE (R) train from Barcelona airport and get off at Estació de Sants (also known as Barcelona Sants station). The R2 Nord line departs from Barcelona-El Prat Airport to Barcelona Sants every half hour. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes and tickets cost 4.10 €.

The quickest way is by taxi; the journey is charged by meter and costs about €40.

Hop onboard the highspeed AVE train to Zaragoza 

Madrid:

The metro is the cheapest and most efficient form of public transport in Madrid. From the airport, metro line 8 takes you to Nuevos Ministerios station. There you can change to line 10, which takes you directly to Atocha station. This takes 25 minutes.
It has a frequency of 15-20 minutes during the day and 35 minutes at night. The price of the ticket is 5 euros.

The best way to get from Madrid Airport (MAD) to Estación de Atocha Renfe Madrid is by train which takes 38 min and costs €2 - €3. Alternatively, you can take line 203 bus which costs €1 - €5 and takes 1h 5m.

The price of a taxi or private transfer from Barajas Airport to Puerta de Atocha Station is between 40 euros VAT included for the standard option, 65 euros VAT included for the Minivan taxi option for 7 people and 65 euros VAT included for the Minivan taxi option for 7 people.
