We take the train ('Ahrtal-Bahn') from Bad-Neuenahr to Remagen...
We'll take it slow and easy from the train through Remagen to the Peace Museum: 'Bridge of Remagen'.
We can enter the Museum at 10:30.
The capture of the bridge is known in the annals of the war as the "Miracle of Remagen". General Eisenhower stated that "the bridge is worth its weight in gold". In the days immediately following, the German High Command made desperate attempts to destroy the bridge by bombing and even employing frogmen.
- The Idea of the Memorial
- Hans Peter Kürten, at that time Mayor of Remagen, had long busied himself with the idea of constructing a memorial. The towers contain an exhibition which recounts the history of the bridge.
The main theme in the Peace Hall applies to everyone:
- Every day let us work for peace with our mind and heart.
- Each person should begin with himself.
We'll take it easy with a steam downstream to the town of Köningswinter
- WELCOME TO SEA LIFE KONIGSWINTER
- DIVE INTO AN AMAZING UNDERWATER WORLD
- directly at the Drachenfels, next to the river Rhine

- Our expedition for today starts here.
- You set out at the Geyser Centre on your voyage of discovery to one of the world’s rarest marvels. Interactive exhibits, themed play and learning areas and media installations will expand your horizons and let you experience the science that comes with it first hand.
- Feel the raw power of ancient nature
- Our journey to the Geyser is approaching its destination. We have safely disembarked from “MS Namedy” at the “Namedyer Werth” peninsula. A short walk of around 250 metres and we will have reached the Geyser.
- The “Namedyer Werth” Nature Reserve
- Enjoy the lush green of this nature reserve, which is home to an alluvial forest that serves as a nesting ground for a number of rare species of birds.
After an hour's rest in Andernach, the train will leave back to Bad Neuenahr.
