Kunnen langdurige epileptische aanvallen consequenties hebben op de lange termijn?

Answer of our experts

Er wordt aangenomen dat aanvallen die kort duren niet leiden tot problemen op de lange-termijn. Twintig minuten wordt gezien als een grensgeval, maar bij dertig minuten is er een hogere incidentie van problemen. Tenzij de aanvallen vaker voorkomen en langer duren, zijn er meestal geen langetermijneffecten.
